Besides the obvious act of having children, the other day I realized just how much of a mom I am when there was a buck prancing around our front yard. It would have been an awesome photo but instead of running to grab my camera, I ran and grabbed Sophie. Rushing from window to window to show her it. I’m not sure she really cared that there was a deer in the front yard but I was so excited to share the moment with her. It’s amazing the point where things like double rainbows, deers in the front yard and even just making dinner become less important moments to document and more important moments to share with your kids.
At what point did you realize that being a mom was more than just about yourself?
