This dress was another recent thrift store find and I love it. So many different patterns. I mean, who thought to combine flowers, hounds-tooth, stripes, color blocks, checkers and polka dots? And while were at it, let’s make it bright orange, navy, brown and tan. But it works! I really wish there were some sort of tag or something on the dress so I could hope to identify it. If I had to guess I would say 70′s but really that’s just a shot in the dark. Anyone out there who knows how to identify dress years want to take a shot? I decided to try something completely new with my hair for this one and did a maiden braid type style. It’s super easy. All I did was braid all my hair in the back [three strips on each side] and then pinned them so they wrapped around my head. Super easy. I don’t know why I’ve never tried this before. I like that it sort of looks like I have really short hair. In fact when Steve came home and saw my hair like this for the first time, he thought I did cut off all my hair! Which, to be honest, is something I would do. Besides just the hair and the dress, how about these shoes?! Mustard is my crush color at the moment and these are just perfect. I love the Oxford look of these too. Plus pair them with some tights and they’ll take me from summer to fall! My only gripe is that they scuff really easy. I don’t know if it’s the shoe or the way I walk but the heels are totally scuffed on the insides. Nothing that a little love can’t buff away but still, annoying. I haven’t walked on linoleum with them yet so I don’t know how easily they would scuff floors but I’d imagine pretty easily.
