Things that are awesome.
Here’s a new blog feature that I’m going to work on implementing . Ideally every Monday. We’ll see how that goes. It’s pretty much just a bunch of awesome things. Every week the verbs will be different depending on what I find. And as always, feel free to share with me awesome things you find. I only have a few things to share this go around because this idea just came to me today and I decided to run with it but it works. I hope you enjoy these little bits and pieces as much as I did.
Here’s an opinion article from the New York Times about a guy who was diagnosed with Schizophrenia and is now living a life that doctors told him was impossible. It’s very inspiring and reminds me that just because your life presents you with certain challenges doesn’t mean that you can’t find a way to manage those challenges to live a better life.
This past weekend a dear friend of mine made the tough decision to put her dog, Monster to sleep. You can read about their story here if you’d like to know more. My heart aches for the difficult time she is going through and therefore I’d like to ask people to consider donating in Monster’s name. Whether that be to my friend’s local animal shelter, the Montgomery County Humane Society , your local humane society, or the ASPCA. If you can’t donate money or supplies to one of these organizations, consider donating your time or at least looking into puppy mills and the damage they can cause. And please, please, please, take the pledge to not shop at ANY store that sells puppies. You are only supporting the puppy mill industry, even if you’re just buying a squeak toy.
